长方形折成梯形求梯形AFDC的面积。如下图，角B折到DF边上，交DF于E点，AB=AE，DC=10，BC＝15，求梯形AFDC的面积。最近遇到过几个小学家长都问到这个问题，我一直觉得无从下手，没有找到原因，直到今天我才明白：原来这本来就不是一道小学数学题。为什么呢？因为其中用到了中学的勾股定理和相似三角形的知识。请看下面的详细解答。

数学题解答：三角形ABC和三角形AEC是对称的，所以CE＝15。利用勾股定理，15的平方-10的平方，得数再开平方，就得到了DE的长度，即“根号115”，所以FE＝15-根号115。再根据三角形AFE和三角形EDC是相似三角形，就可以求出AE（也等于AB）的长度，是1.5（15-根号115）。此时是可以求出梯形的面积的，可见这不是一道适合小学生的数学问题。
