分析：“甲的速度是乙的5/6”可知两车的速度是乙快甲慢；并且可以把乙车的速度看成6份，甲车的速度看成5份；又因为两车从出发到相遇所用的时间相同，所以它们所行路程的份数也是甲车为5份，乙车为6份，乙车比甲多行1份。

又因为“两车在距中点4千米处相遇”，所以当相遇时，乙车比甲车多行4+4＝8（千米），这8千米正好就是前面的1份。所以，两地的距离就是8×（5+6）＝88（千米）
