欧拉公式F+V-E=2，看起来似乎很是深奥，其实它讲述的是一个简单的事实：对于任何一个多面体，用它的面数+顶点数-棱数，结果必然是2。

什么是多面体呢？多面体就是由若干个多边形所围成的封闭的几何体。我们学过的长方体、正方体都是多面体。

围成多面体的各个多边形叫多面体的面；相邻两个面的公共边叫做多面体的棱；若干个面的公共点叫做多面体的顶点。

大数学家欧拉发现了像上面这类多面体的面数F、顶点数V和棱数E有一定的关系，即：面数F+顶点数V-棱数E＝2。这个了不起的发现在数学、化学、物理、生物等方面都有重要的作用。人们把这个公式取名为欧拉公式，又叫欧拉示性数。
