同学们，你知道吗？我们每个人身上都带着好几把尺子，曾经有一位国王就曾规定自己的一拃长度为一尺的长度单位。我们可以用自己的手一拃一拃地测量出课桌约有多长，还可以用自己的脚一步一步地测算出家到学校大概有多远，可以用自己的双臂抱住一棵大树，估计树干一周的长度。就连我们的影子也是一把尺子，可以用它来测量大树和楼房的高度（因为测量它们的高度是有一些难度的）。

你只要量一量自己的影子和树的影子的长度就可以了，因为“树的高度=身高÷人影长×树影长”。这是为什么呢？因为，在同一时间同一地点的物体的高度和它影子的长度成正比例，它们的比值一定，所以就可以用上面的方法测量出大树和楼房的高度。
