由“如果有6只从岸上跳下水，则水中的只数是岸上的4.2倍”可知，此时水中比岸上多：20+6+6=32（只）

由“则水中的只数是岸上的4.2倍”可知，水中比岸上多4.2-1=3.2倍

所以此时岸上有：32÷3.2=10（只）

此时水中有10×4.2=42（只）

原来岸上有：10+6=16（只）

原来水中有：42-6=36（只）
